Taboe Milonga

Taboe is (almost always) on 1^st Saturday in the beautiful Musketon theater with 300m2 wooden floor. Taboe is well known from it‘s warm and inclusive atmosphere & (blind) speeddate tanda and other games for mysterious encounters.

Thank you for bringing something to drink & nibble for the free buffet. Please bring  your waterbottle as well. (we have no access to kitchen)

Curiosity surpasses fear

When we talk about Tango, the word “connection” is never far away. And yes, when we’re out there in a tanda, we’re all chasing that feeling—when we find it, it’s magical, maybe even transformative.

But off the dance floor? Connection often feels a lot more complicated. Sometimes, simply standing in the room can feel vulnerable, even a little unsafe. I’ve been there, scanning the crowd, wondering: Does he or she actually want to dance with me? Do I even know anyone here? Why does it feel like everyone else has someone?

That is exactly why we started playing games at Taboe events. We hit “pause” on the traditional milonga to host things like blind speed-dating, magic forest dances, or micro-wishes. To me, these aren’t just games—they’re bridges. They give us a reason to reach out to someone we haven’t met yet, inviting us to approach each other with genuine curiosity instead of the usual fear of judgment.

This is what makes Taboe feel like home to me. We aren’t just hosting events; we are trying to nurture a space where the barriers come down, helping us grow from a room full of individual dancers into a truly connected family.
