Our creation
What Taboe stands for
Tolerance Adventure Belonging Openness Enchantment
Surrounded by a silent forest, the sound of music, and a welcoming team of helpers and teachers, we have created a tango home where you can feel at ease, stay open, make new discoveries, and enjoy new experiences.
Everyone pays the same price and is free to choose which parts of the program they join—workshops, gatherings, or extras. We offer daily cafés and milongas, around 65 workshops to choose from, sharing circles, and special theme nights featuring unique tango rituals and games.
The workshops address every facet of tango: technique, musicality, intimacy, creativity, and awareness. We cherish qualities like lightness and depth, silence and celebration, rest and challenge—because tango is a wonderful vehicle for growth not just as a dancer, but as a human being.
To nourish a healthy tango community, we support diversity in dance level, age, and music styles. Our music relies primarily on traditional tango, with occasional journeys into other genres.
In this temporary ‘Taboe Tango Village,’ we live together and see each other in every moment—not only when dressed up for the floor, but also when waking up, brushing our teeth, doing the dishes, or opening up in sharing circles. Without outside day-trippers coming and going, we can build a deeply familiar, multidimensional atmosphere where everyone feels at home. We are proud to have gathered so many wonderful dancers and teachers who have helped us bring this fresh, unique camp to life since 2007.

2026 Summer Theme
Embrace: the heart of the dance
In tango, everything begins in the embrace—long before the first step. By focusing on this connection, we explore it as both the architect of our movement and the soul of our partnership. But an embrace is also a mindset: the art of accepting “what is” in the present moment. When we embrace the now, we find the vital flow needed to liberate our dance and shape our connection together.
We are still fine-tuning the theme for our winter camp—perhaps ‘FOLLOW’, to honor all followers and explore the essence of following, both in tango and beyond.
Day-by-day
Program
Here is a sample of our daily rhythm. You are free to join any part of the program you like—nothing is mandatory. We always include a rest day with fewer workshops, giving you more time to relax, walk in the forest, or simply dance in the café.

Natalia & Agustin
Natalia Aguero & Agustin Venturino
This is a truly charming young couple with a breeze of freshness and enthusiasm from La Plata, Argentina.
From the many different styles and influences they developed their own teaching method. They start the lessons with exercises to develop body awareness which opens the road to explore many possibilities, instead of focusing on fixed sequences. This approach makes it possible to dance with greater ease and flexibility and enables dancers to find their own expression.
Their aim as teachers are to help people find a dance that harmonious, authentic, comfortable and natural.

Maria
Maria Filali

Some impressions

- Maria Filali & Sigrid Van Tilbeurgh -“Milonga” Montana Skies” -La Porteñisima/Noz, Palermo
Maria Filali dances tango the way she lives: with curiosity, openness, and an appetite for connection.
Raised between Poland, Morocco, Austria, and Sweden, she grew up building bridges between cultures — a thread that runs straight through her tango. Classically trained in dance from the age of six, she found her way to Argentine tango in 1997 and never looked back. It became, in her own words, the cornerstone of everything that followed.
Over more than two decades, Maria has danced and taught alongside some of tango’s most respected names — fifteen years with Jorge Rodriguez, world tours with Gianpiero Galdi, and countless stages shared with musicians and artists across Europe and Argentina.
But what she brings to the classroom isn’t just experience — it’s a deeply embodied approach to movement, rooted in years of studying body technique and Gyrotonic alongside tango. Her teaching digs into what makes a connection actually work: not just the steps, but the sensation, the musicality, the presence between two people.
In recent years, Maria has taught together with Sigrid Van Tilbeurgh, and dancers at Taboe Camp will remember the pair for the way they open up tango’s technical side without ever losing its warmth and humanity.
This winter, we’re hoping to welcome Maria back — possibly with a new partner, though we don’t have that confirmed yet. Either way, expect a class that goes beneath the surface: technique with heart, and tango as a genuine meeting between two people.

Mariano
Mariano Laplume

Some impressions
Mariano Laplume is a performance artist, tango teacher, and musician from Buenos Aires, now based in Rotterdam. His path into tango started through music: he trained as a violinist and violist, playing with the Sexteto Milonguero, with which he performed in more than 120 cities in Europe and LatinAmerica, and the Orquesta Académica del Teatro Colón, before dedicating himself fully to dance and teaching over twenty years ago.
As a dancer, he’s built long-term partnerships — over a decade with Maral Kojayan (2011–2020), followed by Luciana Saccetti (2020–2026) — working as a resident teacher and TDJ across Buenos Aires, London, and Rotterdam. He also recently performed with Hiba Faisal.
What sets Mariano apart is the combination of skills he brings into the studio: he’s also a fully qualified Alexander Technique teacher, and he weaves that body-awareness work together with his deep musical background to help dancers connect more directly with tango’s musicality — balance, intention, posture, ease of movement. He teaches regularly across the Netherlands, UK, and Germany, including at Cheek2Cheek in Amersfoort.

Sebastian
Sebastian De La Vallina

Some impressions
Sebastian De La Vallina is a tango dancer, teacher, cellist, and composer born in Rosario, Argentina — a city with one of Argentina’s richest tango traditions outside Buenos Aires. He began playing music at seven, later took up cello and, at Domingo Federico’s side, even studied bandoneón — but it was tango dance that ultimately took over his life, starting with his first class in 1992.
He built his foundation between Rosario and Buenos Aires, dancing with partners including Moira Castellano — part of the celebrated ballet of Vanina Biluos and Roberto Herrera — and studying with figures like Tete Rusconi, Gustavo Naveira, and Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli. Back in Rosario, he helped shape one of the city’s most influential tango movements, blending tradition with a more contemporary sensibility, and mentored dancers who would go on to become respected teachers across Europe.
Since relocating to Europe in 2007 — now based in Rome — Sebastian has taught and performed across the continent, from Berlin and Oslo to Barcelona and Naples, and has been a regular at festivals including Taboe Tango Camp. His teaching draws on an unusually wide toolbox: contemporary dance, body alignment work, Feldenkrais, Tai-chi, and his own concept of “Tangología” — a synthesis of everything he’s absorbed from Rosario’s milongas, Buenos Aires’ golden-age dancers, and Europe’s alternative tango scene.
His main focus in class is helping dancers get free — not through more steps, but through quality of movement and musical expression, until the dance genuinely makes sense.
They approach tango, not as a performative art, but as an encounter of two people, ready to improvise together at the service of the music and sharing the space with a community. This means that by working on your tango you inevitably work in who you are as a person, and by working in yourself you will improve your tango. They believe that with simple but precise movements anyone can reach the elegance, the flow, and the intensity we need to express the messages contained in the tango music.

Sara
Sara D’Ajello Caracciolo

Some impressions
Sara D’Ajello Caracciolo is a tango dancer, teacher, and DJ based in Naples. Before tango took over her life, she trained as an architect — a background she describes as having simply shifted focus, from buildings to “the architecture of the body.” She’s been dancing tango since 1995 and teaching since 2002, drawing on years of dance-theatre training to bring a distinct, expressive quality to her tango: less about fixed steps, more about the dialogue between two people moving through space and music together.
She’s the artistic director of Porto Petraio, a Naples space for art, dance, and music, where she organizes the Italian edition of the TangoNeta festival. In 2003 she co-founded “Sulle Rive del Tango,” a project curating non-traditional and alternative tango music, now with five published compilations and regular milongas in Naples, Milan, and Barcelona — she’s also a sought-after DJ at festivals across Europe.
Sara has performed and taught frequently with Sebastian De La Vallina, including at Taboe Tango Camp and festivals like Tarbes en Tango and Tangopostale in Toulouse.
Her private website and the website of the Tango Neta she organises in Napoli, warmly recommended. A lot of Taboe vibes.

Paras & Paul
Paras (Mesi) Saghi & Paul Vossen

Some impressions
Paras and Paul are teaching tango since nearly two decades.
Based in the Netherlands, they were teaching in many tango-events in Germany, United Kingdom, Poland & Italy.
They are now only focussing on multi-days events, because they love have time to bring people to a magic journey where everyone finds a hidden treasures to bring home.
Their unconventional approach tantric-tango workshops, beyond tango gatherings and many selfmade tango-games makes them as teachers & creators quite unique.
“We love to gather with tango-nomads in the nature and live like in a real (tango) village for a while. Our aim is to create a beautiful ‘energyfield‘ where people can feel at ease, open and connected. Besides all the dancing & learning, we encourage people to connect, interact different ways on unusual & suprising ways always light, gentle, honest and playful because we find it essential that we become a warm, inclusive and supportive group everyone feels at home.”

By public transport
Nearest station: Driebergen-Zeist. Nearest bus stop: KNVB-sportcentrum at the Austerlitzeweg.
Option 1: Bus (17 min) + a 7–8 minute walk through the forest path. Check bus schedules in advance — they don’t always run.
Option 2: Ask or offer a lift from Driebergen-Zeist via our Facebook group or our travel budy service.
Option 3: Pre-order a taxi from Driebergen-Zeist station.
Option 4: Pre-order a (return) taxi from Amsterdam Airport — same price for 1–4 people, so try to share with fellow dancers arriving the same afternoon.
Attention! Taxi drivers sometimes can’t find the location — tell them to head for the Beauforthuis (Woudenbergseweg 70), then follow the signs ‘Paasheuvelgroep’ and ‘Tango’ into the forest road.
Walking from the bus stop
Coming from Driebergen-Zeist station
Attention! Check the time schedule for busses. Some weekends they do not run.
If there is a bus, tell the bus driver you want to get out at “KNVB-sportcentrum” (Austerlitzeweg).
When you get out walk back to the Woudenbergseweg, cross it and go left. After about 100 meters you will see a football field on your right. Just before the field you will find a small path going right into the forest (yes really). The path has the football field on the left hand. Follow the path (100 meter) to the macadam road, continue on the road and go first road to the left. You will find the reception in the first building on your right hand. It is about 7-8 minutes walk from the bus stop.

Practical
Practical & More
What to bring
We provide a bed, mattress, and small pillow. Please bring your favorite pillow, fitted sheet, pillowcase, duvet or sleeping bag, towels, blindfold, earplugs, and a sheet or tapestry to hang over your bunk bed for added privacy. Since we are located in a beautiful forest, remember to bring comfortable walking clothes, as well as a swimsuit for summer camp.
If you prefer not to travel with a bulky blanket, you can rent a duvet on-site for €10, though you will still need to bring your own sheet and pillowcase. Please reserve your duvet in advance as supplies are limited.
We will send further details two weeks before the camp begins.
Parties & dress code
Each camp features one or two nights with a special dress code, which helps create a unique focus and atmosphere. Everything at camp is strictly optional, so you are always free to dress as simply or creatively as you like.
Role Balanced & Double Role
We maintain a balanced ratio of leaders and followers at camp. Single followers are welcome to register, but may be placed on a waiting list until more leaders sign up. You can also register as a double-role dancer if you are happy to dance both roles equally (50/50) during milongas—please only choose this option if you are genuinely committed to dancing both roles, rather than using it to bypass the followers’ waiting list.
Dogs & Children
Our Taboe dog, Szimba
Meet Szimba—our very friendly dog who loves to greet everyone! If you prefer not to be approached, simply tell her “Nem!” (Hungarian for ‘no’)—she understands it completely.
If you would like to bring your own dog, please contact us to discuss it before booking.

Children at the camp
The camp is an intensive experience with late nights and a full program. Parents often find it challenging to balance tango with childcare in this environment, and our shared dormitories can make quiet rest tricky for families. While the event isn’t ideally set up for kids, we understand every family is different. If you are considering bringing your children, please get in touch with us first so we can chat through the setup and see what makes sense.
